Mission

Our mission is to advance healthcare for all in Liberia by supporting and enriching the training and continuing education of local healthcare workers and trainees, and by supporting the health literacy of patients and communities.

In this way, we will help develop a large, sustainable pool of skilled healthcare workers to address Liberia’s current shortage and its critical need for accessible medical services; and help build a community of informed patients and families equipped to understand their health needs and navigate the healthcare system.

Vision

We envision transformational change in Liberia generated by:

  • An increased availability of healthcare resources in Liberia made possible by the productive collaboration among healthcare workers locally and in the diaspora and among our local and global communities and partners; and

  • An optimized and effective pool of local healthcare personnel supported by a solidly rebuilt and revitalized healthcare infrastructure designed to provide sustainable, high quality and accessible care to the people we serve.

  • Patients who are empowered to be active partners in their health and healthcare.

Core Values

Our guiding principles

Healthcare is a human right

We believe that every Liberian has a right to basic healthcare.

Optimize local talent

We believe that developing and optimizing local talent and brainpower will lead to increased self-sufficiency and sustainable change.

Engage the diaspora

We believe that Liberians in the diaspora are uniquely positioned to utilize their talents, networks and resources to support the growth and development of the country.

Collaborative effort

We believe that small steps taken to generate positive change can have a significant impact on achieving our collective goal if we all contribute our talents and skills.

Solution oriented

We believe that simply identifying issues is not enough. Stepping up to address and solve these issues is the only way we can steadily move forward in achieving our shared healthcare goals.

Patient empowerment

We believe that  supporting patients' understanding of their personal health and ability to nagivate the healthcare system in partnership with their care team will lead to improved health outcomes.
