Liberia PPE Fundraiser    

July - August 2021

 

The increase in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths in Liberia also significantly impacts the healthcare system's capacity to provide routine care. Healthcare workers are in dire need of personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect themselves and to ensure that they can continue to provide routine health services for all patients needing care. Susu Health Foundation, LIB Healthline and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Liberia Zetas collaborated with the Healthcare Federation of Liberia to expeditiously meet this need via bulk purchase of supplies.

A total of $1,530 USD was raised to provide private clinics in Liberia with much-needed infection prevention and control material materials including face masks, exam gloves and thermometers. We are grateful to all of the generous donors of this collaborative effort!  Please see the Thank You video above. 

Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Screening     

October 2021

 

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Early detection saves lives, but for some women in Liberia, breast cancer imaging is cost-prohibitive. Women are forced to make a choice between screening and providing basic neccessities for themselves and their families. During the month of October, Susu Health Foundation collaborated with Wellness Partners Clinic in Monrovia to provide free breast cancer screening for women in need. 

 

 

Your donations provided mammograms and breast ultrasounds for a total of 16 women AND helped fund the treatment of a young widowed mother of five with advanced breast cancer. 

 

 

 

Ship Medical Equipment to Salt Rehabilitation Clinic 

August - September 2021

 

Support the efforts of Women With Initiatives, Ic to ship much-meeded medical supplies to Salt Rehabilitation Clinic in Monrovia, Liberia. Salt Rehab is the first of its kind in Liberia, with experienced therapists providing physical, occupation and speech therapies.  Your dontations helped get a shipment of durable medical equiptment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers and shower chairs to Salt Rehab.

 

Susu Health Foundation donors generously donated a total of $1630 towards the $2500 campaign. 

Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Screening

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Susu Health Foundation collaborated Wellness Partners, Hope for Women International, and local chapters of four Black sororities (Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta and Sigma Gamma Rho) in a larger effort to provide life-saving breast cancer screening to women in October, and to fund treatment thereafter.
